A Bitcoin ETF, or Exchange-Traded Fund, is a type of investment fund and exchange-traded product, wherein the investment objective is to track the performance of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. This means that investors can buy shares in the ETF, and the ETF will hold the underlying assets, in this case, Bitcoin.

The idea behind a Bitcoin ETF is to provide a more accessible way for traditional investors to gain exposure to the price movements of Bitcoin without actually owning the cryptocurrency. It allows investors to trade Bitcoin on traditional stock exchanges, which can be more familiar and regulated than cryptocurrency exchanges.

The approval and launch of a Bitcoin ETF have been topics of significant interest and discussion in the financial and cryptocurrency communities. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, there were ongoing discussions and applications for a Bitcoin ETF in various jurisdictions, but approvals were pending. Please verify with the latest sources for any developments since then.
